James van Riemsdyk will head back to the team that drafted him after agreeing to sign a five-year, $35 million deal with the Philadelphia Flyers.

He was drafted by No.2 overall by the Flyers in 2007.

Van Riemsdyk is coming off a six-year, $25.5 million deal he signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs prior to the 2012-13 season.

Forward Jay Beagle is leaving the Capitals, agreeing to a four-year, $12 million contract with the Vancouver Canucks.

The New York Islanders agreed to a one-year deal with free-agent forward Tom Kuhnhackl on Monday. The 26-old right wing had four goals and 12 assist in 57 games for Pittsburgh last season.
