2022 NCAA Bracket: Scores, Schedule, TV times for college softball championship​

The best-of-three super-regionals are played at eight host sites Thursday through Saturday or Friday through Sunday. The winners advance to the Women's College World Series, which is June 2 to June 9 or 10 in Oklahoma City.

Game 3: No. 14 Florida 7, Oregon State 1
Natalie Lugo came in the game in relief for Florida after the Gators gave up four hits and a run in the first, getting them out of a bases-loaded jam before going on to pitch six innings with just one hit allowed and six strikeouts.
Game 4: No. 7 Oklahoma State 4, Arizona 2
Karli Petty sent one over the fence for a three-run homer. Maxwell finished the job from there and Oklahoma State advanced to the winners bracket.

Northwestern was eliminated from the WCWS with the loss, marking the end of a spectacular career for Big Ten Pitcher of the Year, Danielle Williams, and Big Ten Player of the Year, Lewis.

Arizona advanced to Sunday with a 3-1 win over Oregon State. The Wildcats dazzled defensively and got just enough done at the plate to walk away with the win and keep their run alive at the WCWS. Carlie Scupin went 3 for 3 at the plate for the Cats.

Game 8: Oklahoma State 2, Florida 0
Oklahoma State is one win away from the championship series in the 2022 WCWS. Florida will meet UCLA on Sunday for a chance to play in the semifinals against Oklahoma.

Sunday, June 5
Game 9: UCLA 8, Florida 0
UCLA is on to the semifinals after shutting out Florida. Holly Azevedo pitched six innings for the Bruins, giving up only two hits. Azevedo is now 21-2 this season with a 1.22 ERA.

The Texas Longhorns have advanced to the semifinals. Texas surrendered its 1-run lead in the top of the fourth on a base hit by Arizona's Carlie Scupin. But the Longhorns answered in the bottom of the inning with a three-run homer by JJ Smith.

UCLA forced the “If necessary” game with its 7-3 win over Oklahoma early Monday afternoon. The Bruins set the tone in the top of the first when Delanie Wisz hit a two-run home run to left field to make it 2-0.

Oklahoma advanced to the championship series. Hope Trautwein pitched all five innings for the Sooners, striking out six batters. Trautwein improves to 21-1 on the season with a 0.49 ERA.

Game 13: Texas 5, Oklahoma State 0
Texas forced another game with a 5-0 win over Oklahoma State on Monday evening. A three-run home run by Courtney Day gave the Longhorns an early lead in the second inning.

Texas punched its ticket to the WCWS finals with a 6-5 win over Oklahoma State. After the Cowgirls scored five runs in the first three innings

WCWS 2022: Why Oklahoma softball's dominance extends beyond the batter's box​

Oklahoma coach Patty Gasso knew it sounded strange as she said it out loud. Something good came out of a loss? But hold on a second, because she can describe the silver lining of Monday's 7-3 defeat at the hands of UCLA. A month ago, the Sooners' march to the WCWS -- a wire-to-wire run as the No. 1 team in softball, with the top ERA and the top batting average in the game -- was nearly derailed when ace pitcher Jordy Bahl felt something pop in her right forearm as she warmed up during the last series of the regular season against Oklahoma State. Immediately, she shut it down and hasn't started a game since, only appearing in a few innings of relief this week as she continues to work her way back.

Texas Longhorns first unseeded team to reach Women's College World Series finals​

Texas stormed back from five runs down to beat Oklahoma State 6-5 and reach the Women's College World Series championship series for the first time in program history. Texas coach Mike White, who will be making his first WCWS final appearance, admitted that he never would have thought as recently as a month ago that his team could go this far in the tournament.
Texas advances to play top-seeded Oklahoma in the best-of-three series starting on Wednesday night. The Longhorns (47-20-1) handed the Sooners (57-3) their first loss of the season in April but lost the rematch last Saturday, 7-2.

Doubleheaders in Women's College World Series semifinals threaten player safety, say coaches​

Oklahoma bounced back from losing a Women's College World Series semifinal to UCLA on Monday, dominating the Bruins in a game that started 30 minutes after the first one concluded. The Sooners handled it fine, but Gasso still called it a player safety issue. She likes that the NCAA's Division I Competition Oversight Committee added a day between the semifinals and finals, one of several popular changes made before the season. But she would give it up for more time between the semifinal games.

The Sooners, who led the nation in batting average, scoring and ERA, set records as a team for the most home runs (17) and runs (64) scored in a WCWS, breaking the previous records that they set last year (15, 49).
