It also means that the government can't nudge anyone to silence you on their behalf. Section 230 protection puts Big Tech under the umbrella of the Feds. Know what that means? If the Feds protect you, you are restrained by the same laws that your benefactor is restrained by.
That doesn't apply to the mom and pop down the streets, of course, because the Feds aren't defending said mom & pop.
The Feds, via Section 230, are defending Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, and others.
That protection binds Big Tech to the 1st Amendment through their connection to the government.
That's common sense. After all, if thoe companies, via Section 230, were *not* bound to the First Amentment, they would not *need* Section 230 protection.
