McCarthy signed a five-year deal as the Cowboys' ninth head coach in January. In his past 41 games, however, he has a 15-25-1 record, including his final 28 games with the Green Bay Packers. In nine of his 13 seasons, the Packers made the playoffs, with one Super Bowl victory and four NFC Championship Game appearances.

Ezekiel Elliott to miss 1st game in career because of injury
Elliott was held out of two Week 17 matchups in 2016 and 2018 when the Cowboys had their playoff positioning wrapped up. He missed six games in 2017 because of a suspension. He has 832 yards on 211 carries with five touchdowns, but he has lost a career-high five fumbles.

Ezekiel Elliott will play Sunday vs. Philadelphia despite a calf injury, according to a source. He was listed as questionable after going through three limited practices during the week. Elliott missed his first game due to injury last week against San Francisco. Elliott said Wednesday he felt like he was on track to play against the Eagles.
At Oklahoma, CeeDee Lamb caught passes from Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray and Jalen Hurts. The Cowboys lost to Mayfield and Murray and get to see Philadelphia's Hurts on Sunday. “It speaks volumes about OU,” Lamb said. “They're definitely a quarterback factory. The three guys that I played with, it's huge. It speaks volumes on them, too, just to be named starters in their organizations. I'm proud to actually have this opportunity, play the whole season and to play against them guys.”
Sean Lee does not sound ready to walk away as a player to become a coach just yet. “You kind of go back and forth on things at times as you get older,” he said. “But the problem is anytime I go on the field and I get to play and you make a couple of plays, you're like, ‘Well, I like this too much.' And that is my problem: I love this game too much. I love this organization a lot. And I love playing and I love playing the position, linebacker. I joke to my wife that I'm addicted to it at times.”
