Source: Ravens fire defensive coordinator Martindale in surprise move

The Baltimore Ravens have fired defensive coordinator Don "Wink" Martindale with one year remaining on his contract, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Friday. This surprising shake-up represents the first move made by the Ravens since they lost six straight games to end the season and failed to make the playoffs for the first time since 2017. Baltimore ranked No. 25 on defense last season, the first time the Ravens had finished out of the top 10 in Martindale's four seasons as defensive coordinator. The Ravens also allowed the second-most yards (363.4) in the franchise's 26-year history, according to ESPN Stats & Information research.

Brady mum on future: Will just take it day by day

Tom Brady said Sunday night that it was too soon for him to think about his future and that his emotions were still tied to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' heartbreaking, last-second playoff loss to the Los Angeles Rams that had occurred just minutes earlier. Brady's comments came after ESPN reported earlier Sunday that the 44-year-old quarterback is undecided about his future, and that while he could return for another season, it is far from a given. Sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter and Jeff Darlington that Brady plans to take time after the season ends, a month or longer -- to assess how he feels physically and mentally while also gauging his family's desires. Coach Bruce Arians said there's no timetable for when a discussion with Brady about his future will take place.

Chiefs, Rams open as favorites for title games

The Kansas City Chiefs opened as touchdown favorites over the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship Game, after a wild playoff weekend filled with dramatic upsets. In the NFC Championship Game, the Rams opened as 3.5-point favorites over the San Francisco 49ers. The Chiefs were the only favorite to survive the divisional round. Three underdogs -- San Francisco, Cincinnati and the Los Angeles Rams -- pulled outright upsets. It's only the third time in the Super Bowl era that there have been three outright betting upsets in the divisional round, according to ESPN Stats & Information research.

Rodgers hints his decision by tag deadline
Upon his return to the Packers last July, he admitted that not participating in the offseason program last year offered a hint at what retirement might feel like, although he continued his regular workouts and training sessions as if he were going to play.

Gronk says he'll retire if forced to decide now
He wouldn't rule out a return even if quarterback Tom Brady doesn't. But he has never played with another quarterback in his 11-year career, and it's natural to assume Gronkowski will wait to see what Brady does.
