People don't kill people, guns kill people!

Time for a parody title. Why? Because the idiocy needed to be spelled right out.

You were ripe for parody, I'm glad you can at last realise it

You think I'm the one who believes firearms are a cause, rather than a result, of human aggression?

If we take personal responsibility for our own actions, then that implies free will, self-determination, and a separation from the control of the state.

The state cannot have individuals being responsible, making their own decisions, and controlling their own destinies.

Thus, the byproduct of a strong state is to shift blame away from individuals to a selected target group, inanimate object, or illness. The state can control all of those things. Is it any wonder socialists cannot and will not blame the individual unless that individual directly opposes the idea of the state-supreme?

It is a philosophical difference; Plato versus Aristotle.
