King Of Bling
On Monday night, the winless Miami Dolphins were headed toward halftime with a surprising two-touchdown lead. Miami blitzed with eight pass rushers, leaving just three defenders in the secondary to cover the three receivers. The Dolphins Threw Eight Players Into A Blitz. Were They Trying To Lose? The winless Dolphins host the one-win Jets on Sunday, but they're not the only teams vying for a franchise-changing draft pick. The Dolphins (0-7), Jets (1-6), Bengals (0-7), Redskins (1-6) and Falcons (1-7) are locked in a heated race for the No. 1 overall pick.

Dolphins get first win of 2019, top Jets 26-18
Miami Dolphins Schedule 2019

Miami coach Brian Flores got drenched with the orange contents of a Gatorade bucket when time expired. Kool and the Gang's "Celebration" blared through the stadium's speakers. Players leaped in the air on their way to a joyous locker room. The Dolphins are 1-7. The Dolphins avoided what would have been the second 0-8 start in franchise history, joining 2007. The win leaves Cincinnati (0-8) as the NFL's lone winless team this season, and for now the frontrunners to win the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NFL draft.

Fitzpatrick completed 24 of 36 passes for 288 yards, and led the Dolphins to their highest point total of the season. It was also Miami's fourth straight win over the Jets, the first three of those coming with Gase being the coach on the winning side. Dolphins (1-7) visit Colts (5-3) next Sunday, playing on the Indianapoli Colts' field for the second straight year.

How Tua Tagovailoa's injury could affect Dolphins' 2020 NFL draft plan
Miami Dolphins fans have spent the 2019 NFL season dreaming for Tua tagovailoa, the talented Alabama quarterback who many had projected as the No. 1 overall pick for much of the season, but one devastating dislocated and fractured hip injury has thrown that hope into flux. Tagovailoa's season-ending hip injury has significant influence on the Dolphins' pursuit of a franchise quarterback. Is the Tua dream over for Miami or does this somehow make it even more obtainable? With the Dolphins (2-8) spending most of this year collecting three first-round selections and a projected 14 total picks, the 2020 NFL draft might be the single most important event in Miami's extreme rebuild.

And now there's debate whether Tagovailoa will declare early for the draft by the Jan. 20 deadline or return for his senior season at Alabama. If Tagovailoa declares, he ranks No. 13 on ESPN Scout Inc. and Todd NcShay's big board, as the third quarterback behind LSU's Joe Burrow and Oregon's Justin Herbert. The Cincinnati Bengals (10-1) remain Miami's biggest threat to the No. 1 overall pick. If the Bengals deem Burrow to be a franchise-changing quarterback to replace Andy Dalton, the Dolphins' eye-opening war chest of picks won't be enough to convince them to trade back. This is a Dolphins team that has failed to right the quarterback position since Dan Marino retired in 2000. They have to nail this one, not settle for a player who could just have a decent Ryan Tanehilln-like career in Miami.

Teams in the hunt for the 1st pick.
Cincinnati (0-10)
Washington (1-9)
Miami (2-8)
New York Giants (2-8)
Tampa Bay (3-7)
New York Jets (3-7)

Dolphins are placing veteran starting safeties Reshad Jones and Bobby McCain on injured reserve. McCain suffered a shoulder injury Sunday and Jones has battled various injuries this season. They also placed WR Gary Jennings on IR. Incoming moves: S Adrian Colbert signed off the Seahawks practice squad, rookie DT Gerald Willis promoted from their practice squad and rookie LB Andrew Van Ginkel activated off IR. Dolphins waived RB Mark Walton after they were made aware of a police matter involving him this morning. He was cut him immediately with GM Chris Grier saying they hold their players to a high standard. Walton was through two games of a four-game suspension dating back to his three offseason arrests.

Browns rout Dolphins 41-24 in first game since Garrett mess

Jarvis Landry caught two touchdown passes against his former team and Cleveland won its third straight Sunday, 41-24 over the Miami Dolphins in the Browns' first game since losing star defensive end Myles Garrett to a season-ending suspension. Baker Mayfield had 327 yards passing and hit a TD pass to Beckham, and Joe Schobert had two interceptions as the Browns (5-6) continued their climb back into the AFC playoff hunt.

The Dolphins helped dig their hole. They were called for three pass interference penalties in the first half, failed to convert on a faked punt, and finished the first quarter with 7 total yards. Miami quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick finished 21 of 39 with two TD passes and two interceptions on his 37th birthday. He threw an 11-yard TD pass to tight end Mike Gesicki, scored on an 8-yard run, and threw a 19-yarder to Allen Hurns.

UP NEXT: Dolphins host Philadelphia on Dec. 1.

Bag of tricks helps Dolphins rally past Eagles 37-31
Philadelphia was expecting a field goal try when Haack stood and instead took a shotgun snap, with five teammates flanked far to the left and four far to the right. Haack rolled left before flipping a pass to Sanders, who was part of the group on the left before slipping into the end zone uncovered.

DeVante Parker made two acrobatic touchdown receptions, and kicker Jason Sanders' scoring catch was circus-like, too. The unlikely duo helped the Miami Dolphins overcome a 14-point deficit in the second half to beat the slumping Philadeliphia Eagles 37-31 Sunday. Miami won for the third time in their past five games, a surprising and perhaps costly turnaround for a team that will be shopping for a franchise quarterback in the 2020 draft. The win likely took the Dolphins out of the running for the No. 1 pick.

Ficken's FG as time expires leads Jets past Dolphins 22-21
Sam Ficken kicked a 44-yard field goal as time expired to give the Jets a 22-21 comeback victory Sunday after they benefited when an incomplete pass was reviewed in New York and a rare game-altering pass interference ruling on Miami was added. Darnold got the winning drive going with a short pass to Vyncint Smith, who turned it into a 37-yard gain that included a high-step over a would-be tackler. After a sack by Andrew Van Ginkei two plays later put the ball at the Dolphins 46, Darnold threw an incomplete pass to Smith.
