Friday comes and says, "WHAT?! You think you were going to make plans for the weekend? HOW DARE YOU!" And then it fucks me up, beats me up and leaves me hangin out to dry on Saturday.

It is pretty fucked up.

Interesting trivia bit: Ever since I live in a house instead of an apartment, I have to drag my garbage can out to the curb every Thursday night so that the trashman can grab it an empty it at (a purely theoretical) 0600 every Friday morning. Which, in practice, is more like 1100-ish.

That's not important to anyone for any reason, of course. As stated, just an interesting trivia bit.

Here it is Thursday. Feeling hopeful about the weekend.

Yep. It's Friday. Last one off before I return to work on Tuesday. yay. Can't wait. Have to wear masks and gloves around the office, social distance, sign a self diagnosis sheet every morning. Most of the restaurants will be closed so it looks like I'll be bringing my lunch to work. And looks like all the shuttle bus lots will be closed so I might have to walk 22 minutes to work each day and then 22 minutes home.

I just got a call from my boss. They open on the 15th but I'm still laid off indefinitely. She said if I could find another job to take it. I told her I would prefer to wait until my old slot opens up again. Front desk at a gym is a pretty high risk position, so I can relate.

Looks like a paid summer vacation. I can relate.

Friday beat us up pretty bad this week but I was still left with some energy.

We had our first Covid party for Fathers Day. It was pretty cool, everyone had been quarantined and we were on private property so it was safe and fun.

Ate and drank all day. Even got sunburned. How sweet it is.
