I still say they should have assimilated a gazelle type creature - then they could jump about a bit.
 
Or a frog, so they can just shoot their tongues out and grab people.
 
Or just about anything that can make them walk faster.

The Borg cannot suck. They're still perfecting sucking and have yet to assimilate the race that sucks really really well. Thus they refrain from non-perfect sucking until that day.
 
If they collected some Wii's and remotes, they could assimilate people without even touching them.
 
The Borg should be able to do a lot of things they don't do, really.
