Bad 'Joker' face painter arrested

July 29, 2008 09:26am

A 20-YEAR-old US man dressed in a full Joker costume was arrested while allegedly trying to steal Batman posters and memorabilia from a cinema.

Police in Three Rivers, Michigan, arrested Spencer Taylor on Sunday after he was detained by employees at the Three Rivers 6 cinema.

The Associated Press said Mr Taylor was wearing a purple suit, a green wig and face paint in the style of Batman's nemesis in The Dark Knight.

Detective Mike Mohney said he expected Mr Taylor to be charged with larceny and malicious destruction of property and appear in court on August 5.

Good to see you're finally with us Failconarg.

Great another MF Invasion for the MF'ers to mock.:jayzus:

The MF'ers can be elitist snobs at times but there still good people. I like them.

I'll have no part in this failed invasion.:snack:

Killer who used head as bowling ball jailed

* James Roughan jailed for life over brutal murder
* Stabbed teenager Jay Shepherd 133 times
* Victim's head sawn off and used as bowling ball

A MAN has been jailed for life over the brutal murder of a teenager who was stabbed 133 times and decapitated before his head was used as a bowling ball.

A Supreme Court jury in Brisbane took less than a day to find James Patrick Roughan, 28, guilty of murdering 17-year-old Morgan Jay Shepherd on March 29, 2005.

It was the second time Roughan has been found guilty of the murder.

He and co-offender Christopher Clark Jones, 24, were both sentenced to life imprisonment in April last year after being found guilty after a lengthy trial.

Roughan appealed against the verdict in the Court of Appeal in Brisbane and won a retrial in December last year.

At the start of the second trial he pleaded guilty to one count of interfering with a corpse and to a charge of accessary to murder after the fact.

However, the Crown proceeded with the murder trial, presenting evidence that was accepted by the jury, which returned its guilty verdict late last night.

During the eight-day trial the court was told Mr Shepherd's body was found in a shallow grave near Dayboro, northwest of Brisbane, on April 1, 2005.

The teenager died after being stabbed more than 133 times, and his head had been sawn off.

Prosecutor David Meredith told the court Roughan and Jones had murdered Mr Shepherd after becoming embroiled in an argument during a drinking session at Roughan's home in Sandgate, north of Brisbane.

Several witnesses testified that they overheard Jones and Roughan boasting about the killing.
Jones also told friends that Roughan used the severed head like a puppet and a bowling ball.

After killing Mr Shepherd the pair enlisted a friend to help dispose of the body, and they later drove back to Dayboro to bury the body more carefully.

Three people have already been sentenced for helping to dispose of the corpse.

I'm not on the side of the MF. I don't think that acting with aggression towards our friends in the MF (Yub, Cassie, etc) is necessarily needed. I think that it would be preferable to convert that Badland-ish MFers to our side first...

ONE of Sonny Bill Williams' best friends Reni Maitua said there were signs that his team-mate was ill-at-ease at the Bulldogs but no warning he would leave the club in such dramatic circumstances.

"Look I am one of Sonny's closest mates but he didn't tell us any circumstances or anything like that," Maitua said after the Bulldogs ended an horrific week with a 30-0 loss to St George Illawarra at ANZ Stadium last night.

"I knew something was up but he didn't tell the players anything. He wasn't himself for a couple of days there and then it all unfolded.

"It's really sad to see him go and to leave our game. It's extremely disappointing but I love him as a mate and I'll always stick by him."

In addition to Williams walking out with four years left to run on his Bulldogs contract, Maitua and team-mates Ben Roberts and Lee Te Maari got into trouble in a Cronulla night club a week ago. Roberts and Te Maari were fined $2500 each by the club and stood down from last night's match.

Once the game did start, Dragons winger Josh Morris and his twin Brett put on four first-half tries to help the club rattle up a 26-0 scoreline at half-time.

As if losing players such as Willie Tonga (shoulder) for the season along with Luke Patten (back) and Matt Utai (knee) wasn't enough, centre Tim Winitana didn't last five minutes last night as he painfully made his way to the sidelines with cracked left ribs.

"You can't give up 26 points in a half of footy and expect to win," Bulldogs coach Steve Folkes said.

"If you're looking for reasons, there was obviously a bit of disruption this week but there's probably $2 million of our salary cap sitting on the sidelines not playing with us."

Folkes was dismissive that Williams' untimely exit had been a major factor.

"Maybe rather than talk about the guy who's not here, maybe we should talk about the ones that are."

Maitua was adamant he would not label Williams "a dog" like others both inside and outside the Dogs ranks.

"I don't know the circumstances of why he had to leave. I'm sure Sonny had reasons for leaving now. He just wouldn't have just walked out," he said.

"I'm not prepared to call him a dog until I know the circumstances. I think people making those comments well I think they're just hurt to see him go.

"He's such a good talent and such a good player for the NRL and Canterbury. Even if you're not a supporter you want to watch Sonny Bill play."

Opposing coach Nathan Brown and captain Mark Gasnier certainly felt for the Dogs. Many of the players live in the Kogarah-Cronulla area and are friendly with Dragons players.

"Tonight was the night that if we played reasonably well we were going to win because the Bulldogs have a lot of good players watching," Brown said. "It's hard for them, it's tough."

Gasnier, who is also off to France to play rugby next season because of a get-out clause in his contract, did not want to enter the Williams fray.

"Look I think I'll stay out of the debate. I think there's been enough opinions and that," Gasnier said. "From my point of view, I've got a limited number of games left in the NRL so I just want to concentrate on that. I don't know Sonny's circumstances but I'll leave the debate out there."

Not too many fans made it out to a cold and wet ANZ Stadium for the game -- only 7802 in an arena which seats 80,000 -- but a lone banner down the southern end of the stand said it all on behalf of many Dogs fans: SBW = Judas Au Revoir. There was a dollar sign standing in for the S in Sonny Bill's initials as another reminder fans were not pleased their star backrower appeared to take the money and run. Mysteriously the sign disappeared before half-time but it had lasted long enough for the message to get through.

Yeah but other people: DL, LC, JL, SK, Dual, etc care what I have to say and that is what makes my time worthwhile.

You on the other hand...alot of people don't care what you say especially when 70% of your posts consist of you telling us how you are better than us(I run this place), or we're lame, gay, predictable, boring or unfunny.
