They will try again, though and ought to get their IP banned before that happens.
Bick can you please contact Lonaf's owner (keep forgetting his name, sorry) and urgently request him to acces the server's access logs, check who logged on at Oct 12th, 14:31 GMT and ban the respective IP (or the whole ISP if possible)?

PS: looks very much like they installed the new files using an FTP client. It might be a good idea to completely disable ftp access to the whole domain, at least temporarily.
Admittedly it'll make techAdmining much harder for us, but it may keep these idiots out. Might at least be worth a try and we can always restore ftp access later. I'd do it myself but I have only limited server access. Port number and password for manual access would be enormousely helpful and *highly* appreciated.

yep. Maybe he tries to keep them out this way. However, they did get in without a password previousely, so it's not certain he can keep them out now. Still, it's worth the try.
Since the guy never replies to my mails, could someone please contact him and ask if he'd like to exile his boards during the time of repairs? I have enough bandwith and serverspace left to install and host copies of both boards. I'd need a full database backup (structure and contents, please) to set up two standard phpBBs. If he installed any hacks on Lonaf, I'd need a backup of his edited files as well. For Bickenboard I have software backups of my own.
Alternatively, I could set up an empty exile board for both or reactivate one of my old boards by adding an exile section.

I don't think so. They'd most likely use a reroute again and this popup is really created by lonaf's domain.
It turned up last night while I was overwriting Bickenboard's files with my backup, being too lazy to single the manipulated files out manually (I had planned to go to bed 3 hours earlier *sigh*). I suppose Steve was online at the same time (which would account for the upload being so unbearably slow) and set the password. It can't have been me as my server access is limited to the folder with Bickenboard's software and a password activation would require access at least one level higher.
Well, there's nothing we can do atm and I must go to work now. Usually I am already at my office by now (local time: Wednesday, 6:40 am).
