Doctor Who Season OR SERIES 13

It's a bit unfortunate that the trailer looks exciting until the Doctor shows up.

Bit dull.

How come time traveling Judoon who can beam through the TARDIS sheilds don't immediately come back for her?

Still got John Bishop to look forward too, just wish he was the new doctor.

Just a typical Chibnall story really, nothing particularly bad about it but all told in a competely uninteresting, unoriginal way and felt too long like many of his stories. Jack had some nice moments thanks to Barrowman's charm, but he didn't really end up contributing that much to the story? I kind of liked the Chris Noth villain at first because he's not totally evil and seems rightly disgusted by the scientist cloning the squid monsters, but then he randomly decides to take the side of the Nazi robots and help them exterminate humanity?

The "JOHN BISHOP" announcement just left me BEMUSED. If he's the next Doctor then it shows they don't trust people to keep watching another series of Jodie, if he's just a guest star then why does he get a special announcement as if he's some huge star? He's hardly John Hurt.

John Bishop is "Dan", our new companion. It's another bloke from contemporary Earth so I'm glad they're shaking up the formula a bit.

Episode was eh.

Not compelling. I lost interest halfway through. It rested too much on references from past better seasons without adding to them. Barrowman showed up and most of his lines were "yeah this is what happened to my character when I was last on the show 57 years ago, wasn't I a scamp?" The show feels like fanfic now.

Seeing Chris Noth play so over-the-top took some getting used to, but it was enjoyable once I figured out his lane.

Meh.

p.s. I wouldn't know John Bishop from a ham sandwich so... yay I guess?

He's a working class comedian from Liverpool, my next door neighbor looks like him if he was 20 years older.

Is this the first doctor who episode that not one of us enjoyed?

I really cannot stand John Bishop so that's me tapping out of any future episodes while he's involved.

His character will be completely non-controversial and say nothing that puts him in any meaningful conflict with the Doctor/Yaz or causes the viewer to have to think about anything, so I wouldn't worry about it.

I naively thought they'd let Yaz be the sole companion for a while but they had to have "don't worry, there will still be a white man!" after the end credits.

It's amazing how everyone worried that the fans wouldn't treat a female doctor well. Turns out the only ones not treating her well are her writers.

Are they giving the doctor haircuts in prison? We've seen the 4th, 10th and 11th doctors grew their hair and beards if they are stranded somewhere for a long time.

Also looks like she's leaving the show.

Aren't TARDISes kind of alive? Isn't it a bit off to blow one up just to kill some Daleks? Or is it just the Doctor's TARDIS that's alive?

(Standard "I'd rather Chibnall quit" message here.)

Yeah, especially considering the one where it became a person.

I have to imagine she will be injured in the last episode, then drag her finally out over the new year's special, with the new doc coming in for the last few seconds.

And if they really want to rip their own episodes off she will bump into the second doctor, and find out he had a load of secret adventures before becoming the third that she can't remember.

‘It’s A Sin’ Star Olly Alexander Exterminates ‘Doctor Who’ Reports In Playful Statement

Olly Alexander, the star of Channel 4/HBO Max’s It’s a Sin and Years & Years frontman, has denied reports that he is close to being unveiled as Jodie Whittaker’s replacement on Doctor Who.

The BBC is yet to even confirm Whittaker’s departure, though the broadcaster has not denied reports that she is exiting the iconic sci-fi series. Meanwhile, the UK press is already speculating on her replacement, with The Sun on Sunday reporting that Alexander was nailed on for the role.

In its report, The Sun said he is “thrashing out final details” with BBC bosses and will be the first gay actor to play the Time Lord, who first landed on British TV screens in 1963. But Alexander’s rep said the story “just isn’t true.”

In a playful statement posted on Instagram, agent Martha Kinn said: “Even though Olly is often contacted by Cybermen, I’m afraid I have to exterminate this speculation. As nice as it is to see interest in this story regenerate, it just isn’t true. As Ood as it might sound, Olly is focusing on his music, for the time being.”

The references to the Daleks, Cybermen and Ood will not be lost on Whovians. Below is a screengrab of the statement:

Whittaker’s departure is reportedly being kept under wraps amid production on Season 13. If she does exit the Tardis, it will be in keeping with her predecessors who also completed three seasons before moving on to other projects.
