Where is the Random Thread of Randomness stuff that doesn't belong in other threads thread?

Speaking of old bullshit, a friend of mine is trying to tell me I need to watch The Six Million Dollar Man again, and I just don't think so. Maybe the ones with Bigfoot, the Venus Probe, and the Fembots (particularly the FemOscarBot), but the last time I saw the show on the Sci-Fi Channel back in the nineties it was awful. But we were stoned while watching it sooooo.... maybe?

Oh, I forgot the ones with John Houseman and his weather control device, but that might have been The Bionic Woman or one of those crossover things.
 
The Venus probe was on the other night when I was channel surfing, Lee Majors seemed to be doing a lot of his own Stunts hanging off a helicopter, I can see why the fall guy would have appealed to him.
 
As I understand it the Venus probe was just a dressed up old VW bug. If you look at it closely enough you can see the oil smoke coming out the tail end while it's romping around.
 
When I was a little kid I loved The Six Million Dollar Man and Bionic Woman, oh and Charlie's Angels. I LOVED THEM. But they are super hokey now. Remember Starsky & Hutch? I probably watched that a million times. lol

There are a few old shows that I still watch sometimes and think they stand up. Hogan's Heroes and MASH are still worth watching a rerun now and then.
 
Got a warning on Reddit for suggesting that Mandleson should be expelled from earth.

Which was too violent apparently.
 
I may commit murder tonight, if anyone crosses me... my building mgmt sends exterminators to all the units every couple of months, and they set it up for this morning for my place. I'm supposed to be around and let the guy in between 8AM-Noon... HELLO I WORK NIGHTS, which means every time they do this, I lose a sleep cycle, or at least a decent chunk of one...

THE GUY DIDN'T SHOW UNTIL 2PM, an hour before I had to log on to work again. I am so punchy right now that I fear for anyone who even asks for directions... FUCK THIS PLANET FUCKERS I WANNA GO TO BEDdfafdgaflkdsf
 
I've worked nights a lot. A few years ago I realized I was getting too old to work nights. It was screwing me up too much--even when stuff like the above doesn't happen.

The apartment complex we live in gets sprayed about every other month, and it's maintenance who lets them in.
 
That's what sucks here -- sometimes the super is with the exterminator to let him in, but sometimes he leaves the guy to go knocking door to door by himself without a passkey... and I never know which it will be each time. Drives me nuts. Not that I'm crazy about the super walking in whenever he likes, but at least I could sleep...

Weird. No, security here isn't gonna let some rando walk around keying into apartments. Like I said, one of the maintenance guys will come with him opening doors... and they have to give at least 24 hours notice so we can secure pets and valuables.

Yeah, sounds like your place sorta sucks.
 
I hate Google, so I use DuckDuckGo as much as possible. I tried something called Startpage for awhile but eventually gave up. Anyhow, about DuckDuckGo's limitations: There was an article about how archaeologists found an Iron Age Celtic war bugle called a "carnyx." The pictures with the article weren't too good so I popped onto DDG to do an image search for "carnyx." Every image came back for "CarMax." Now, I don't know where to start on what level of fucked up that is, but I guess maybe that there wasn't a "Did you mean 'CarMax'/Show only 'carnyx'" link under the search. At any rate, I wound up going to Google, which immediately gave me hits for "carnyx"--and none for "CarMax."

As I was starting this post I popped onto Excite, Dogpile, and Yahoo! too, to see what results they'd pull. They all gave me pictures of a carnyx without any fuss or cajoling, so it may be time to relegate DDG to the "also ran" category of search engines. :(
