Depending on the light and the angle a fish is looking at the glass, they either see you standing there, or they see a mirror. The only time the fish run into the glass is if I spook them. Some of my fish are easily startled and other ones just see me as FOOD TIME.
"Decent" is the sweet spot. I wanted something better than my phone and wound up getting a DSLR. It's so fancy that I never use it because it's a pain in the ass. I need a nice point & shoot.
Amazon has some waterproof digital cameras for less than $100. You probably don't want to stick a camera in a pond, but I DO. lol The camera I've been using is an Akaso action camera (like a GoPro, but cheap), it takes fairly decent underwater video footage, but all the pictures are fisheye. I thought maybe I was using the wrong setting, but the only other camera settings for pictures are for taking timed pictures. I have spent so much money getting the supplies for this tank that I have to put myself on a budget for a little while. I'm trying to save up for new fish, too. BUDGET? WHO NEEDS A BUDGET?
