TAMPA, Fla. -- It's a stogy of staggering proportions.

Cigar makers in Tampa, Fla., hope they've rolled the world's biggest cigar. It took more than 75 hours over several weeks to craft a smoke 101 feet long and weighing more than 53 pounds. They put the finishing touches on the giant smoke at the Cigar Heritage Festival.

Wallace and Margarita Reyes, co-owners of the Gonzalez Habano Cigar Company, staged the stunt to mark the 85th anniversary of their Tampa factory. They're hoping the giant cigar will earn a spot in the Guinness Book of Records.

Local officials documented the completed cigar so it can be submitted to the Guiness Book of Records. They said Tampa's giant cigar could make the 2008 edition of the book unless someone rolls a bigger cigar before July.

The current record is a 66-foot-long cigar made in Havana, Cuba.

Smoke em' if ya got em' boys.
