The 2022 MTV Video Music Awards

[size=5 The VMAs are being held at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., and will be airing live on Sunday, Aug. 28 at 8 PM ET/PT.

Rappers Nicki Minaj, LL Cool J, and Jack Harlow are set to share hosting duties for the star-studded music event. In addition to her emcee duties, Minaj will also receive the prestigious Video Vanguard Award at the ceremony.[/size]

Jack Harlow, Kendrick Lamar and Lil Nas X lead the way with seven nominations each, followed by Doja Cat and Harry Styles with six each. Other artists who are nominated this year are Billie Eilish, Drake, Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift and The Weeknd.

The show averaged 3.9 million total viewers across the night, up 3% (3.7 million) from last year. It also was up 4 percent in persons 18-34 (2.24 vs. 2.16), 1 percent in persons 18-49 (2.81 vs. 2.78) and 5% in persons 25-54 (3.13 vs. 3).
