24 hours

Love Child

One Love
I have 24 hours to make a short film. What should I make it about and how should I make it? I will have from the following genres to choose from:
Comedy
Romance
Drama
Mystery
Horror
True story/Documentry
Sci Fi

I must include the following items in my film: Carrot, sunglasses, boot, rug, giraffe.

Bonus if the film is made with the theme of journeys.

P.S. Pretend I have very little time for editing and very little experience adding in cool things such as background music and special effects, however I have lots of costumes and wigs.

Sci-fi, definitely. Then you don't have to worry about it making sense! You coud just stick in the "carrot, sunglasses, boot, rug and giraffe" anywhere and if someone asks where they're there say "the alien put them there with its powers!"

Also: your main character should be an alien. To create an alien simply wear two wigs at once. If someone says that's not what aliens looks like, just say "how do YOU know what aliens look like?"

The theme of "journey" is achieved by the alien returning home at the end by putting on its "going home" wig.

Comedy -- mom sets up a nannycam while at work for new babysitter she's not sure about. Hilarity ensues with trying to feed strained carrots, playing with a stuffed giraffe and putting on sunglasses and lip syncing to calm down the little screamer, etc.

Mystery.

Who is the mysterious giraffe wearing sunglasses and one boot with a carrot stuck up its nose while flying around on a rug?

The soundtrack can be all songs from the band Journey.

Too bad you'd have to have kids in it!

I see definite possibilities here, I did also consider working bigfoot in there also.

Thankfully I have one more week to come up with some more ideas-AND to make sure I have good movie editing software? Any suggestions? The free ones would be best. I may already have a software on my work computer that I could use.

Tonight I started thinking about a reality based short film, and then I started thinking about Portlandia, and I thought about making a really mundane task into a huge drama and have people talk into the camera about their team mates as they were doing this really mundane task. But it can't be like too obvious, mundane or boring, because that is just lame.

People are already starting to form ideas and teams. I have to have a really good team.
