A humble request for a conference with the head of the family here.

We don't have a Don, we have notable members who don't shy away from speaking on its behalf, though. ;)

I'm going into a meeting with a client in a couple of minutes but I'll be back on a little later. Maybe Menty Wacky or Gagh is around...
 
Eggs is quite right, we don't have a leader here. Though myself, Wacky, Eggs, Gagh and Blazerboy are all able to officially speak on the MF's behalf. So here I am, fire away. I'm on MSN as well and will be for the next two hours at least. So just give me a bell here or there.
 
I'm just taking a quick break from reports.. you saw my thread about how the usergroups are set up. Eggs didnt seem happy with it. I basically want to know how you think the MF should fit in with the spammers groups and so on.

No need for that many gropus. Have everyone new daycared till they show themselves to be actual posters, then free them by a vote of a group of members.
And if they show retardedness, back to DC.
 
I don't see why retards should be locked in here. I agree with BG(!) that there now seem to be far too many groups. If someone's bad enough that they're locked in only three forums then they're probably bad enough that they should be locked in just DC, I WOULD THINK.
 
I will defer to my collegue Wacky on this. The Minefield should be exempt of BLATANT flooding and asshats that have allready proved that they can not function in the other forums. But thats where it should stop. THe MF does well enough untouched besides that.
 
This ties in with my previous suggestion that the old system wasn't so bad, you just didn't have the people on hand to police it on a daily basis.

Where the Mine Field is physically isn't as important as the idea that it is not lumped in with the other 2 "bottom" forums anymore when it comes to policy. And if we're not scrapping points altogether, that posts in the MF should be weighted equal to other forums, and abusers and threads floods in the MF get booted to DC like any other forum.

If the new usergroups thing is aligned with those goals, great.
 
I like how the MF was once a dumping ground for useless threads and spam. Now, it's a valid forum. The irony in that cracks me up.

So do you not want new registers to be able to post here either then? Or you just dont think we should have a spammers usergroup?

No I think it's fine that new posters can post here. But if they flood the place or are DC'd for any other reason in the rest of the board then they shouldn't have the luxury of being able to continue to post in our forum and still be idiots.
