Absofuckinglutely NOT.

I don't even laugh at the funny stuff anymore. He has ruined this country and it may be impossible to undo the damage.

Fuck him in Hell with a flaming steel poker.

Well YEAH, all that stuff is totally valid and I agree with you wholeheartedly but one can laugh and cry at the same time. The man is absurdity incarnate. He arguably has/had the most serious job on the planet yet was impossible to take seriously. Lulz were had. Death depression and carnage were also had in far greater measure but the lulz were still there.

Somewhere there has got to be a countdown clock.... I thought it was funny that no one wants to publish his book.

So where are the photos of Obama looking stupid? Or will you be called a racist for showing them?

;)
mm

How exactly did he "ruin this country" ?

In a nutshell :

Economically / Internally : The recent economic crisis, unlike what many ignorant fucknuts in the media claim (in order to brainwash obtuse simpletons, and I have to give it to them, they do a good job at that), is not the result of a mistake in the macroeconomic policy set by any given administration. It's inherent to capitalism. Otherwise I am perfectly fine with economic liberalism, with minimal interference from the public sector.

Foreign Policy : Sieur Double-Vé (Dubya) took the helm at the worst possible moment ever. What he did, from a geopolitical perspective, is brilliant. He stroke down two Sunni regimes that were potential threats to the USA and (mainly) its strategic ally, Israel. Whether you agree with America's strategic positioning is another matter. But given USA's positioning in politics, what Bush did perfectly makes sense.

Besides, many tend to ignore the fact that there are decisions that are beyond single administrations, and are part of long-term plans set by earlier administrations.

I am not denying the fact that Bush did relatively fuck up, however, the sheer magnitude of the blame thrown on him is obnoxious.

I loved him, I hated him, he embarassed me but all in all, history will prove he was one of the great ones.

Don't re-write history Eggs, it was the Dems that stood up for Fannie May and Freddie Mac and got us into this awful mess. Bush has screwed a hell of a lot of things up but the economic crisis lies squarely on the Dems.

It will be interesting when the country is out of its love affair with the "Not Bush" President-Elect Obama. I think I will contact the King and make sure my 99 year lease is still intact and make sure there are inland accommodations for me when my island is flooded. There is racism in Tonga; however, they are at least honest about it.

A few decades down the road, Americans will fondly look back to the time when we could still afford SUVs, didn't have the health care tax, enjoyed a patriotic sense of purpose, saw economic growth or actually won wars.

They will look back to a time when they could disagree with the POTUS without it being deemed "hate speech" punishable by law - or it is A-okay for the black majority to riot in the streets, burn, kill, destroy, plunder because somebody said something mean about a black president.

OK. As far as the original post, that really needs to be done to a slideshow with, like, "Yakkity Sax" or some whacky sports bloopers music behind it.

As far as the thread title, yes. When the Soviet Union 2.0 gobbles back up Eastern Europe and we are again living under the constant threat of terrorist attacks, I will miss Bush. There are other things I'll miss him for, like low taxes and the right to own guns, but those have largely been hit on upthread.
