Alan Partridge, Movie Star

Eggs Mayonnaise

All In With The Nuts
I'm watching Happy Endings, a film by Don Roos (The Opposite of Sex). Odd story, odd storytelling. Steve Coogan is funny as a soulless gay man trying to trick two lesbians into divulging the paternity of their adopted son.

The capper is Maggie Gyllenhaal and Tom Arnold having a love scene. She should get an award just for getting through it.

Lisa Kudrow does her usual thing, Laura Dern is stunningly beautiful and underused, and Jason Ritter is hot as a closet case.

Uneven, funny in parts, overall it comes off as not quite finished in some way. Like most of Roos' work. And I still have a half hour to go.

I have yet to see Steve Coogan perform well in a film. I think he struggles when he doesn't have control over it.

Do you know that he used to chat up women dressed as Pauline Calf? and succeed? that's talent.

I've met him. I knocked on his door and told him the lights on his car were on in the driveway (I was with Alex at the time (Seph). Didn't know it was his house until his daughter opened the door and then went and got him. He was on the phone and was none to amused to be bothered. Probably thought that I had found his house and wanted an autograph or something. Anyway, I was totally thrown when I saw him. Said something like "Oh my God....your lights are on"

He nodded, closed the door and that was the end of that celeb encounter.

Courtney Love was waiting with cocaine on her tits (WAS HIS DAUGHTER FIT?)

She was around 7.
