An old guy recommends some films

I'm older than almost all of you

So here's some films I liked when I was younger than aren't on TV much.

Freebie and the bean.
A buddy cop film before lethal weapon, with big stunts and a good blend of humour and action. James Caan is the main star, it's a bit un PC hence why it's never on.

The french connection, before the blues brothers, this was the premier car chase film.
There is a sequel, but it wasn't as good. Gene Hackman and Roy Schneider, you know you want to watch this.

Silent Running, before star wars there was this, cute robots, country music, ecology, what's not to like?

More films to follow if anyone cares.

While were on Dom Amiche, trading places is worth a watch.
There's the famous story of him doing the final scene in one take, because of his feelings saying 'fuck'. But you don't hear about any misgivings he may have had about the 'N' word in the bathroom scene.

Airport (1970) and The Poseidon Adventure (1972) -- the first two big moneymakers of the 'disaster' genre. Also better than all the others that came after them. Have rewatched both dozens of times over the years, and I still do today.

It's funny because I saw that Airport was on tv the other day but I knew if I watched any of it I'd be unable to stop thinking about Airplane! (also an old movie that should be recommended, but you've probably heard of it.)
