An old guy recommends some films

or this?

This was my favorite saturday morning TV show

I've only not seen the middle one of those.

It's not super well known but its a good watch, I only know about it because my dad showed it to me like 25yrs ago when I asked if he knew any good Roy Schneider flicks(Im a bit of a mark).

Having read the plot I suspect I might also have watched it with my dad.

Carpetbaggers I have seen as it has George Peppard in, I remember nothing about it though.

My dad took us to the drive in back in the day, it was the 2nd feature.

Of course my favourite George Peppard film is battle beyond the stars.

Airport (1970) and The Poseidon Adventure (1972) -- the first two big moneymakers of the 'disaster' genre. Also better than all the others that came after them. Have rewatched both dozens of times over the years, and I still do today.

I feel like I'm watching "Coffee Tea or Me" I'm only 20 minutes in so far.

I found a really obscure call-out to Airport in the movie Fred Claus: They cast an actor to play the Sleigh Ground Controller who resembles the Air Traffic Controller who communicates with the plane in Airport:

While there are several references to Airport!, the movie Airplane! was pretty much stolen from a movie called Zero Hour

Yeah, I think that's what I was thinking of: the makers of Airplane! actually bought the rights to Zero Hour.

Freaks (1932)

Logan's run, an old school sci fi, with some nice tits.

An American werewolf in London, pre CGI, practical effects at the top of their game.

Yup, Rick Baker was the king of building all those practical special effects back then.

Now teenagers can create those effects on their phones.

he did "Thriller" iirc

If we are talking werewolfs, there is also the howling, effects aren't as good, but more tits, and the holodoc.

1941 the Spielberg film he doesn't talk about, with a great cast, some hit and miss humour, and some good Stunts. Also Micky Roake before he ruined his face.
