Forever Empress E
Insomnia. Been at it about a week now this time. So, not saying you ever did, but if you did and you do pay close attention to my posts, now might be the time to just pass over them. No telling what I might post.
Been busy building my UO characters up some more. Some of the skills take forever. But, if you want to take a character into the more interesting places, they'd better be a darn good fighter or they'll get killed quick, fast and in a hurry. Went on my stealth character with a bunch of players one night in to a really interesting place. The central dungeon was a maze of narrow hallways with fugly monsters literally pouring through the walls. Even though the toon I was playing is a grandmaster at hiding and walking invisible amongst the fuglies, these fuglies revealed me more than a time or two. Without the capability to magically transport out of that place, it was a good thing that toon is also an elder fencer and there were a lot of good fighters along for the adventure. Gawd, I love it when it is so scary my heart is pounding and my hands are shaking over a toon in danger in a toon world.
That is the only drawback to UO for me. On the old computer and Nintendo Ultima games, a person could play by themselves and build a party of four controlled by one player. Could go to any dungeon, any level, all over the map and succeed. In Ultima Online, really need to join a good guild and do the quests and dungeon runs with a group along. Of course, can still do a lot of the crafting alone until higher resources are needed, then have to do that in a group as well. Oh well - I still love UO. One of these days I'll install Kingdom Reborn and see how that works. No one I know has been impressed with it even though it looks really good in the trailers.
