Thing is, it's sensationalism at it's finest. PETA extracts video samples from processing plants and farms that don't meet standards or are known to employ unethical and/or abusive methods, and then they wrap it all up into a promotional film for their cause. They then use that to try and convince the general public that it's an industry standard.

I love how PETA employs Alec Baldwin as a spokesperson though. Lets get a guy that abuses his wife and make him a spokesman against animal abuse. That's like making Bush the spokesman for solar energy.
