Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania

I thought the trailer where it's all "let's go to a world of imagination" and then it shifts focus to this character i've never seen who says "ant-man" with a dramatic sneer was weird. idk what this movie is about.

I'm not an MCU apologist anymore after Love And Thunder and am not going to attempt to sell you on it!

(The whole second hour of the movie is just a long succession of different men saying "Ant-Man", each more different than the last.)

Saw it today...it's actually not bad? Like yeah it's lacking in substance a bit. The closest thing to an arc Scott gets is "helping people is good!" and "I love my daughter!" But Paul Rudd is as charming and fun as always.

I enjoyed the weird characters of the quantum realm and the flying buildings which were also alive and stuff. There were some nice visuals, but also some murky hard to make out stuff and average MCU action scenes. Did I ever believe the characters were in a real physical place and not standing in front of a green screen (The Volume, whatever)? No, not really! The stuff with Scott in the "possibility engine" was by far the best part and actually looked good.

I liked how MODOK was USED in the movie. His crazy chainsaws and stuff were fun. I liked Corey Stoll in the first movie so it was cool they brought him back. BUT THEN he takes his vizor thing off and holy shit it looks awful. Literally like someone blew up a photo of his face on a phone app. HOW did they let that make the screen? If the delays to upcoming proects are to fix issues like this then I'm all for them.

Hope gets literally nothing to do. Like I think she had less then twenty lines the whole movie. Most of the time she's just reacting to the others with her haircut. And I don't mean to be a dick (lol) but what the fuck happened to Evangeline Lilly's face? Michelle Pfeiffer is twenty years older and looked younger than her? Or the same age anyway.

Jonathan Majors was really good as Kang and can certainly deliver a monologue. I question if it's the right choice to have Kang defeated by Ant-Man in his cinematic debut? Like I know there's lots of other Kang variants but how scary is that when we know Ant-Man can beat them?

It's funny that they got Bill Murray for like one day of filming, had him say "mechanical orgasnim designed only for killing" then had him eaten by a baby octopus thing. At least he probably didn't have time to be a dick on set.

I liked the hyper-evolved socialist super ants.

Anyway yeah it was definitely better than Love And Thunder and probably like Black Widow and maybe Multiverse of Madness and doesn't really seem to deserve to be the one that's getting the bad reveiws.

Not seen the film yet, but is Evangelina Lilly turning into a man? That haircut is doing her no favours

Good mix of being heartwarming, great action, and good comedy. Take notes next Black Panther and Thor movie. This is what a great MCU movie should be.

Hank killing Bill Murray seemed a little out of character, but it went by so fast I reckon a lot of people missed it.
