Any GameCube recommendations??

Big Dick McGee

If you don't know, now ya know
I bought a game cube a couple of years ago when the price dropped. Mostly, I wanted to play the latest iteration of Mario Cart.

I haven't played the sytem in quite awhile, though. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005 had me hooked on PS2 for awhile.

Can anyone recommend a few good games for Game Cube? I love Mario games (it's the only reason I'm loyal to Game Cube), so that'd be cool. Anything else that's exclusive to Game Cube would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I think the Burnout games were on the GameCube 2, 3 and Revenge are all pretty good, although the pop rock music gets annoying after awhile on 3 and Revenge.

Other than that I can’t think of any good games with the exception of Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros.

I had just pretty much ignored the GameCube as a result of their butchering of the Starfox series and decided to go with the PS2 instead since they offered the best games.

The GameCube version of the old N64 X-Wing game looked pretty good, from what little I saw of it.

Rogue Squadron 2 was a good game, but it was like a rehash of the first game with better graphics. Still a good pickup if you're a fan.

If you're into wrestling, Day of Reckoning 2 completely improved on the first game's graphics, and it's the last game you'll ever see Muhammed Hassan in. ;)

Aside from that, that's all I can recommend. I have a GC, but I hardly play it anymore. I'm focusing too much attention on my XBOX and PS2.

The Zelda disk with the N64 and NES Zeldas. The Wind Waker is good (although it's far too short).

Where the hell are you people finding room in your entertainment centers for multiple consoles?

Yeah, my receiver has four video inputs, and I'm full up.

However, if I send another console's video feed directly to the television and its audio feed to one of the unused audio inputs on the receiver, I can add a second console that way.

Actually, if I get the PS3, I'll have to do that, because the receiver doesn't have a HDMI input/output.

Spend-literally-$5 on a no-name "video game splitter". Mad Catz makes 'em, and you can probably find them at best buy. It's basically a trapezoidal box with five inputs (though I've seen them with ten, fifteen, etc.) and one interface with your television. Basically, you plug the thing into the TV, then hook up your consoles, etc. to the box. Press the little button that corresponds to the # your game system is hooked to, and you do away with multiple connections.

I currently have my SNES, PS2, GameCube, and portable DVD player hooked into the splitter. Works like a charm, and it's small enough to be out of the way.

I only have a PS2 and I don't use it whatsoever. Because it's gay. I have a PC for gaming needs.

The Legend Of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Super Mario Sunshine
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (my favourite Cube game but tobe fair it might be an acquired taste.)
Super Smash Brothers Melee
Metroid Prime
Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
Rogue Squdran 2: Rogue Leader
F-Zero GX
Soul Calibur 2 (not exclusive to Cube but the Cube one has Link)
Beyond Good And Evil (okay, not exclusive either...but fuck it, it's good)
Viewtiful Joe (might have come out for PS2 as well, I don't know)
Animal Crossing is a guilty pleasure, it's cute and kiddy as fuck so you probably wouldn't like it.

I've heard good things about Eternal Darkness, Pikmin and Resident Evil 4 but I don't have them. I have Fire Emblem (strategy RPG) coming so I'll let you know how that is.

And The Legend Of Zelda: The Twilight Princess will likely be the the last big Cube release (sometime next year) and from everything I know about it it's likely to "rock the box".

^^I missed your post before I went to the Circuit City last night. Their selection sucked, but I am an "instant gratification" type, so I picked up Mario Golf for $20. It's ok, but nothing will ever compare to Tiger Woods for PS2.

I'll hit a true videogame store this weekend and pick up one of the mario games you suggested. Which is better, Sunshine or Paper Mario?

I prefer Paper Mario. Mario Sunshine is a lot like Mario64; Paper Mario is an RPG.

Yup, I got a splitter too. Got my PS2, XBOX, and GC hooked up to one TV.

Out on the other TV, we got the N64, Super NES and Genesis hooked up to it. We used to have the PS1 hooked up to it, but my brother took that to his Air Force base. Still have a Dreamcast and an NES that isn't hooked up.........

WAIT! The NES is hooked up to the TV with the PS2, XBOX, and GC. ;)

Metroid is shit.

I'm petty sure Metroid Prime is widely regarded as the best or at least one of the best games on the GC so your opinion is a minority one.

Like Dual, I prefer Paper Mario, but it if you really hate RPGs (and it's hardly a traditional RPG or anything, it has platform elements and it's very funny) then get Sunshine, which is good too.
