Anyone been to Wales?

Just saw a special "What's in the Bag?" show about Wales. It's a golf show about equipment. Anyway, they went to Wales, and the place looks fantastic for both golfers and travellers. Anyone been to Wales?

Haven't been, I imagine some parts are nice and some parts are "shitehole like" though.

I went there last year for my holidays(thank god this year I went to a place closer to civilisation; Egypt). The mountains are nice, but that's it really. I went to Festiniog, home of Glyn and there were bits of grafiti saying "fuck off English", "no tourists here", etc. People aren't very open to visitors, even though it'd bring money to their towns. We went through one town which had apparently been abandoned. A whole town full of houses. I never knew there were parts of Britain in such a state.

It was quite a depressing holiday.
