Anyone use SlingBox??

Big Dick McGee

If you don't know, now ya know
Yeah, I know this should be in another forum, but the opinions I care about are those of my fellow MF'ers!

I've been corresponding on FB with a guy who hosts a couple different sports programs in Philly. Stupid Comcast won't license SportsNet Philly to any satellite providers, so even when I do get DirecTV, I won't be able to watch post-game shows, etc.

A couple of people have responded to my FB posts that I should get a sling box. I've visited the site, and I get the gist of how it works, but how reliable is it? Does the tv actually need to be turned on, or can it just be through the cable box. Like, if I set it up in Mom's house, on her spare TV, can I just set the cable box to that channel and be done?

Thanks to all who can give me some info!

I likes mustard on my french fried potaters, ummmhummm.

A lot of your post had the sound of charlie browns teacher about it to me.

No.

Maybe you should consider wearing some Sling backs?

I would be happy to help you with that. I've set these up before. Yes, you connect it to the cable/sat box. You can set it up to where you can change channels from your remote device. (laptop, whatever) Let me know if you decide to get one, I can help you with the details.
