There's a sporting event taking place in Scotland that's a little like an Olympic Games except it's only for countries that are in the Commonwealth; an organisation for places that were or are subjects of the Queen of England. John Barrowman (who's Scottish. Really.) was in the opening ceremony.
 
Peter Capaldi came out in full Doctor outfit and presented and exclusive seven minute clip from a future episode of Doctor Who and made clever references to classic episodes Spearhead From Space, The Caves Of Androzani and Pyramids Of Mars, then danced a jig for a full minute before Sylvester McCoy ran out playing the spoons and dragged him off, followed by a close-up of Moffat watching from the crowd who shrugged and said "that's Scottish Doctors for you!" before a loving tribute to the Scottish NHS started up.

Shame you all missed it!
