Preseason baseball has been going on for several days and NARY A PEEP from you! Are you feeling alright???

The Mets picked up many Latinos this winter. It's much like looking outside my kitchen window.

YES!! THE PHILLIES ARE 4-0!! Mets whonow? We're still on for the game in August, right?

Dude, I can't wait, Football and golf are tied for my favorite sport. But baseball? Well...that's pretty much my religion.

I even went to Phillies Spring Training last year, and had a ball. And yes, I watched most of the Phillies ST game yesterday, at least until Tiger came on at 3.

You think the mets will be good this year, or will their high-priced talent flop?? I'm really liking our new CF Aaron Rowand, he kept himself in the game yesterday, even after he was excused. My kind of dirtball baseball player.
 
I've learned not to crow too loud in the spring about the Mets' chances since, oh, 2001. But I like how they are building for as stable a post-Piazza future as possible. Willie Randolph can be Joe Torre to these guys if the front office keeps the faith.

Other than that, I'll cheer the wins and bemoan the losses. This year is more about praying for the downfall of Johnny Damon and the Yankees for me. :D

I swear, I'm going to spread something on the Net and in the street about how a brand-new Babe-Ruth-sized curse has now befallen the Yankees by taking in the traitor Damon. Worded right, it might have legs...
 
I never get too excited about Spring Training either. I will say that the last time the Phillies got off to a good ST start, they got a great regular season start and ended up in the playoffs, then the World Series. That was 1993! It's been a loooong dry spell!

Oh, yeah, I heard about that curse. Something to do with Damon losing all his power because they made him cut off his hair and shave his beard? I hear it's cursed all the Yankees with a tremendous power loss. They won't be hitting many home runs this year, darn the luck.
 
Or maybe they'll all be sticking their arms out from a bus in Boston, flipping the bird to jeering fans, only to break them hitting a telephone pole.

The World Baseball Classic started this afternoon. It's Venezuala vs. Dominican Republic. The only reason I watched even 5 minutes of it is because VZ has Bobby Abreu on the team, and he's a Phillie.

Ahhh....the weather is getting warmer, I'll be playing golf this weekend, and The Boys of Summer are almost ready to play. Ain't life grand??
