Body of Deputy U.S. Marshal Found in Mexican Canal

Federal authorities say a deputy U.S. marshal wanted for allegedly stealing a government shotgun has been found dead in Mexico.

Deputy U.S. Marshal Gerald Payan said the victim is Vincent Paul Bustamente, a deputy U.S. Marshal assigned to the El Paso office. Payan said the office is working with the FBI and local Mexican authorities to investigate.

Chihuahua state police say Bustamente's decomposing body with a circular wound to the back of the head was found at approximately 9 a.m. in a Juarez canal.

Jeff Carter, spokesman for the U.S. Marshal's office, told KVIA-TV that Bustamente was on administrative leave prior to his death for failure to appear in court on charges of criminal theft of public property.

Carter said Bustamente's weapon, credentials and badges were retained by his supervisor after work hours.

So the Party line is we need more gun laws because legally purchased American guns are being illegally smuggled into Mexico?

OK. I'm not even going to take the time to point out how many holes and fallacies are involved in that argument. But here it turns out the problem is really crooked cops? So crooked cops are smuggling military and police firearms into Mexico. And the way to protect America from corrupt police is to--wait for it--DISARM US!?!?!?
