Best show of the year: Prison Break.

I just finsihed up on the finale and - quite surprisingly so - it's been a really good series. Great even.

I mean, it's not very realistic in it's premise. Well not at all actually, but it doesn't really matter. So far there hasn't been one dud episode and the acting is top-notch across the board.

I found the story of the goings on outside the prison to be much less interesting at first than the main prison break storyline but unlike, say, Lost which is also a great series that uses flashbacks for sometimes more than half the episode time Prison Break doesn't let the episodes get bogged down with this part of the plot. (and it's still interesting stuff to watch). And it really picked up in the last half of the season. In actuality 85% of the time was spent on the direct storyline in the prison.

The cast is awesome. Wentworth Miller does a great job in the leading role and all the other prison breakers complement the show brilliantly.

Robert Knepper plays T-Bag to perfection and is just a love to hate character in every respect. But Peter Stormare blows it away as John Abruzzi. Awesome in everyway. Stormare is a remarkable actor that we all know from the host of movies he's been in and in Prison Break he is no different as the fallen and incarcerated mafia boss.

I'm just surprised with Prison Break because I aquired the first few episodes just out of curiosity and hoped it would be a decent watch but it has become complete must see tv. I'm sure the unlikleness of the premise and the RL improbability and luck factor of actually pulling off an escape like the one that Schofield creates might annoy some. Not me though, they could of gone a more realistic route but it would of been far less intriguing. The feel of the show at least has that gritty realism to it even if the plot points are sometimes a bit of a pure luck gamble. Think the high-concept nature of 24.

Great show, highly recommended. Hopefully it will keep the pace up well into Season 2.

If you haven't seen it then get it.

*SPOILERS*

Thoughts on the finale:

I was dissapointed that D.B Cooper had to die. But as soon as I saw him sustain the injury I knew he wasn't going to make it over that wire. Still, its harsh.

And what about Sarah? Why kill her? Died from a drug overdose? (well thats what I assume, she looked fucking dead and the officer called a DOA) I am unhappy about that, it really makes her story needlessly tragic. I will applaud the TOTAL shock of it though. You rarely see a cast where only two characters out of a large ensemble are really safe. I really did not see that twist coming. Seeing how Michael deals with it when and if he finds out will be a very dark moment. The finale reinforced the tragic nature of the show. The death of Link the Sinks son's mom was harsh on it's own to be honest and now D.B and SARAH?!!

That's really very evil plotting on the part of the writers.

Sarahs death is the one that bothers me the most though.

Also, Haywire and the wigger kid both seem to have made their respective escapes clean by being ditched from the group. The rest are in bad, bad trouble as of the finale. And why wern't the cops opening fire at them across the field?

It's going to be very interesting watching Season 2 because the entire format of the show has to change. I heard a rumor that they are changing the name of the show even. To Prison Break: Most Wanted.

The finale was ahit hot and now I can sfely say that Seaon 1 of Prison Break did not have ONE clunker episode. A remarkable feat. The cliffhanger is just not in the slightest big fair. Season 2 of Prison Break is going to be top of the list as soon as it starts airing which can't be soon enough.

Prison Break is my show of the year. Yes, it surpasses Lost. It's just that good.

Seek. Procure. Watch.

It was good, but the 3-month break between episode 13 and episode 14 sucked. And it was nowhere near as good as 24. Word.

My top shows of last year:

1. 24
2. Veronica Mars
3. Prison Break.

DAMN! I need to get you and Gagh V Mars, I have them, I just need to burn them! I'll get it done this week, I promise!

I haven't had a chance to see Prison Break at all since the pilot, but I keep hearing good things about it. Better than Lost? That's a tall order, but one I'll have to explore. When's it on?
