Big Bang Theory

Sheldon's dream come true.
Of course he's going to piss off S.H., what ya want to bet?
( am not looking at spoilers, it's a logical posit).

I really don't like the show, so it annoys me that it's getting all these big names. Community should have Stephen Hawking! They could turn Greendale into a model of the solar system with each study group character representing one of the 8 planets and the Dean as the Sun (or something, I don't know!), or the college could get sucked into a black hole and be rescued by Hawking.

It's not that big a deal to get Hawking on your show -- he's already done TNG, The Simpsons, Futurama, AND RICHARD & JUDY.

He's a whore.

Tisi, dont be a h8er!

unless it's someone who bugs you at work.

or cuts you off on the highway.

or bogarts the last of that vodka you like [that is the colour blue?].

or has 48 items in the express lane. AND decides in line they also want the butter that's on sale.

or......nevermind.

I love you with the power of a thousand suns curiousa2z but nothing's going to convince me that BBT is anything more than badly written characters spouting easy to recognise nerd references so that the audience can go "Hey I've heard of Windows, I shall laugh because I recognise a word" with helpful over the top laugh tracks to make sure no one forget to laugh at the character saying "Windows".

WE ALL NEED TO SNUGGLE CURIOUSA2Z!

(I haven't ever seen BBT, but I have some friends who love it!)

Yeah, sorry for putting a downer on things. I'm sure the actual scene will be fun.

I have a lot of bones to pick with BBT. I started typing a few of them and I could see it turning into a rant, so I'll just leave it at that. Essentially it boils down to me not liking the old fashioned sitcom set up, the reinforcement of stereotypes, the misrepresentation of real life mental disorders and the use of celebrity guests as a crutch that means they can work less hard on coming up with jokes. It also annoys me that the show somehow gets better ratings than Community, which, by contrast, has to be the most creative, think-out-of-the-box and possibly funniest show on tv.

You know, I have not seen Community - it must be on here on a night I'm tutoring. It's that funny, eh?
I'll check it out.

It's really sneaky with its references to pop culture. There's a lot you notice, but then there's a lot that you only find out when you go online after an episode and see what everyone else picked up on. That's probably what's helped to build such a um... community around it.

I'm watching Sheldon with you, I have to, the knight always sneaks a peek. I tried Community, I just wasn't feeling it.
