I guess I need to start a thread for every superhero show and this one will be on Netflixin the UK (in a week) so I'll probably end up watch it and this is the thread okay.
I watched it, and it was decent. It reminded me of Luke Cage (the music, not because they're both black. I'm not racist). Other than some soundtrack choices, it had an original, and intriguing backstory. Faithful to the character, perhaps sticking closer to the source material than usual. (As far as I know, or remember).
The concept of a superhero coming out of retirement was pretty cool, and different from the other CW shows. I was entertained enough to want to see what's next.
The pilot episode was pretty damn good. It's definitely a lot more serious than the rest of the DC shows. Seems like a good cast dynamic so far with an interesting story line.
I'm just waiting for them to all find out about the superpowers. Right now it's kinda dragging, or something.
I don't get the family dynamic, either. Like why hasn't Black Lightning used his powers for 9 years and his ex wife is only just now thinking about getting back with him? And why doesn't he want his wife to have the youngest daughter if he's going to be out fighting crime?
Dexter's dad kept saying Black Lightning would be crossing the line if he murdered the albino, but didn't he kill loads of henchmen in the first episode when he was shooting them in the heart with lightning?
And how come the albion hasn't aged in like thirty years?
