That beauty is the MacGregor MacTec NVG2 Driver. It's got 10.5* of loft, with a sweet Fujikura Quadra-Action Shaft in Stiff Flex. It's an update to the MacTec I bought 2 years ago. The description:

"Cup Face 360° technology makes the entire Beta-Titanium Face a sweet spot providing maximum distance, even on off-center hits.

* High quality Beta-Titanium Face has high elongation properties that generate hot ball response from all points of impact providing incredible distance
* Quadra Tungsten Weighting keeps unwanted rotation to a minimum increasing Moment of Inertia for better control.
* Cup Face 360° technology makes the entire Beta-titanium face a sweet spot for more distance and accuracy.
* Beta-Titanium Crown Insert lowers center of gravity promoting low spin with optimal launch angle for maximum distance.
* Fujikura Quadra Action Shaft has three-bend-points and four stiffness zones generating more club head speed without swinging harder."

Picked it up for a song on ebay, $200 plus free shipping. That's $100 less than the retail price. I hit my current MacTec around 220 either straight or with a slight draw, I've demo'd this club and I hit it around 255 straight. AWESOME. My nips are hard.

Bella Vista, Turtle Creek, Paxon Hollow Country Club, Coob's Creek Olde Course, Walnut Lane Golf Club, Island Green Country Club, with the very occasional foray to John F. Byrne Golf Club or another of the crappy Philly municipal courses.

Bella Vista and Paxon Hollow are the ones I play the most. Very different courses, but both gems.

No it wasn't never mind.

After a quick google search I can estimate where you live. You know you're only an hour and a half from me?

You spent $200.00 on something that's meant to, utimately, get a wee little ball inside a wee little hole? You know you could have bought a lot of Clay music with that money, right? ;)

Just yankin' yer chain, BDM. The club does look awesome. What's the difference between the driver you purchased, and a cheaper version?

You can get a driver from Wal-Mart for $50, maybe less. The shaft will be cheap graphite, and the head will be a titanium composite, probably 5% titanium and the rest steel.

The ONLY 2 clubs that will help most amateurs shoot lower scores are Driver and Putter. The MacTec I play now has a titanium face, quadra-action shaft, and tungsten weights to square the club at impact and promote a draw. Basically, it helps the ball go straighter on mis-hits. If you hit a $50 driver even slightly off the center of the face (the sweet spot), it'll either slice or hook, or worse, balloon.

If I hit my current MacTec slightly off-center, it'll still go straight. With the new MacTec, the entire face is the sweet spot, so on the occasional mis-hit (I mis-hit my driver about 5% of the time, which is excellent for a driver) it'll go as far as my current driver when I flush it. When I hit the new driver in the center, I'll gain 25-35 yards. Which is a lot.

Don't even get me started on loft, torque, kickpoint, and shaft stiffness! Suffice it to say that I know enough to not pick an "off-the-rack" driver.

If I were West of you, you'd be in the Atlantic Ocean! You can't go an hour and a half East of me without being about a half hour out to sea. I live 30 minutes West of Philly.

OK, fine, southwest.
