No. They got funding from the rich of Germany by making them afraid of socialists. The Nazi party had an easy time getting funding once it became clear that the Nazi party existed mostly to provide thugs to beat up communists.

As far as trying to keep the working people apart from the communists, the Nazi Party simply used the same tactics used by countless capitalists of the era.
