Bush says he doesn't care about polls

Hambil

I AM A GOLDEN GOD
This makes one wonder what he does care about. Not much investigation is required to uncover what truly drives him, and it's not a suprise at all.

If you take Bush's popularity, and graph it against gas prices, they match up almost exactly.

So, who is Bush working for, if not we the people? Big oil, clearly.

Pfft...ask most anyone who's from Texas. They knew. Yet most still voted for him...twice. Idiots.

That's what happens when derelict nut fuckers vote strictly along party lines...WE ALL wind up with someone like Bush for President just cause he's a Republican. Hopefully after this past election & all the chaos that has ensued, voters will wise up & choose the next President based upon something more relevant.

It's GOOD that Bush doesn't care about polls, you dolts! I would rather have a President stick to his guns, and do what he believes is right (no matter the political fallout), than a waffling fool like Kerry who changes his position depending on his standing in the polls.

BDM is right. I'm glad Bush doesn't care about polls.

Or the economy, global warming, social security, Medicare, the elderly, the impoverished, basic health care in general, the middle and lower income working classes, education, foreign relations, minorities (except Mexicans. I get the feeling he has more than his fair share taking care of the back 40 in Texas), veterans benefits, taking jobs away from Americans, corporate greed, small business, price gouging, excessive spending, war time casualties, US security, border security, (unless Crawford, Texas is involved) equal rights, the constitution, personal privacy…

And the list goes on and on and on and on…

Anyone know what the guy does care about? Other then lining his and the governments pockets off middle and lower class America and legalizing the border hopping beaners he’s got working the stables at Crawford?

Ok, there's my weekly rant.

^Bingo! I also prefer a President to sticks to his principles than one who flows with the stupid polls. A President who adjusts by polls may be very popular, but they seldom get things done that are important.

One of the claims of Bush's critics was that he was invading Iraq for the oil.

If that were true, and we sucked that country dry of oil, gas would be a penny a gallon now cause we stole it all.

So for Bush's poll numbers to go up, he'd just have to do what his critics accused him of.

I am glad we don't have a president who governs by poll. That president would be an idiot. (Oh, that was our last president Clinton.)

No, the criticizm was we invaded Iraq because they have oil. Not that we did it to steal their oil. Although, Bush did claim the oil would pay for the war - which makes him either an idiot or a liar, you choose.

Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz: “There’s a lot of money to pay for this that doesn’t have to be U.S. taxpayer money, and it starts with the assets of the Iraqi people…and on a rough recollection, the oil revenues of that country could bring between $50 and $100 billion over the course of the next two or three years…We’re dealing with a country that can really finance its own reconstruction, and relatively soon.” [Source: House Committee on Appropriations Hearing on a Supplemental War Regulation, 3/27/03]

Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld: “If you [Source: worry about just] the cost, the money, Iraq is a very different situation from Afghanistan…Iraq has oil. They have financial resources.” [Source: Fortune Magazine, Fall 2002]

Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld: “I don't believe that the United States has the responsibility for reconstruction, in a sense…[Reconstruction] funds can come from those various sources I mentioned: frozen assets, oil revenues and a variety of other things, including the Oil for Food, which has a very substantial number of billions of dollars in it. [Source: Senate Appropriations Hearing, 3/27/03]

State Department Official Alan Larson: “On the resource side, Iraq itself will rightly shoulder much of the responsibilities. Among the sources of revenue available are $1.7 billion in invested Iraqi assets, the found assets in Iraq…and unallocated oil-for-food money that will be deposited in the development fund.” [Source: Senate Foreign Relations Committee Hearing on Iraq Stabilization, 06/04/03]

Emphasis mine.

Yet, all you cite are instances of Bush Administration officials saying that the reconstruction of Iraq could be partly financed by oil proceeds.

See, instead of crushing terrorism then saying buh-bye, we realize it's our duty to help the Iraqi's rebuild. If we need to use some of their oil to pay for it, what's the big deal?

Because we haven't, because we planned SO POORLY that there are no oil profits (other than those lining Bush and his oil friends pockets) to be had.

Ummm...you said that President Bush said oil would pay for the Iraq war. I asked you to cite proof and you cited proof that his administration claimed that the reconstruction (not the war) would be paid for with Iraqi oil.

If Bush said it, he said it, it has nothing to do with "poor planning" or "profits not being there".

If I said, "I'm going to climb Mt. Everest", and I went up with swim trunks and flippers, my poor planning doesn't change the fact that I said it.

Poor try, even for you.

No blood for oil? Must have heard that wrong. I guess 100 million peace activists from around the world weren't chanting that for two whole years, my mistake!

Although, Bush did claim the oil would pay for the war - which makes him either an idiot or a liar, you choose.

Bush never made that claim, it was suggested by a Democrat congressman as a means of paying for the war.

Funny how Bush is often cited as saying things he never said. Care to back up his quotes with links from CNN?

How is citing the resources Iraq has for rebuilding "proof" that we're going to steal a penny of their oil? At least now I comprehend where you're coming from.

It's this liberals way to stop arguing with you when you repeatedly make no sense and act blind and dumb.
