Bush the First Wouldn't Mind Son Jeb as CinC, USA

Ramen

Suck my Logic
Bush would like to see Jeb as president

WASHINGTON -- Former President George H.W. Bush said on Sunday he'd like to see his second son, Jeb, become President of the United States some day.

Interviewed on Fox News Sunday, Bush said his second son, a former Governor of Florida, had all the qualifications to serve in the White House.

Jeb Bush, 55, has said he was considering running for a U.S. Senate seat representing Florida in 2010. The current incumbent, Republican Mel Martinez, has announced he is stepping down.

"I'd like to see him run. I'd like to see him be president one day, or senator, whatever, yes I would," said Bush, who served as president from 1989-1993.

"Right now is probably a bad time. We've had enough Bushes in there," he added.

Bush and the current incumbent, George W. Bush, are the second father and son in U.S. history to serve as President. John Adams was the second president and his son, John Quincy Adams, the sixth.

No father has ever been followed by two sons into the White House.

George W. Bush will leave office on Jan. 20 with approval ratings hovering just below 30 percent in many polls, some of the lowest of any president in history.

As a resident in Florida, Jeb was a halfway decent governor, and I believe he'll make a good senator (anybody would be better than Amnesty Mel).

However, I do not want him as president. Putting aside the notion of having a Kennedyesque attempt at having a Bush presidential dynasty, I do not trust anyone from that clan to not further cave under political pressure towards socialist policies.

I hope someone took the lessons of Bush Sr and Bush Jr to heart and eliminates any possibility of Jeb ever running.

With EXTREME prejudice.

Of course, after the last eight years I think it will be a long long time before we see another Republican nut job in the White house again anyway. Or so we can only hope.

I think you're more likely to see one of the "little brown ones" run. Read: George P.

But really, aren't we pretty much done with Bushes now? No more Bushes, Clintons or Kennedys say I.

Although I suppose it's not entirely outside the realm of possibility that Future People may look back on the Shrub years as the good old days, the way things are going. Stranger things have happened.
