US President George Bush's approval rating plunged to a new low of 26 percent, making him the least popular US president since Richard Nixon, a poll released on Thursday found.

Why is it mainstream news sources regularly publish polls which claim Bush's approval rating has slipped, always to 30% ? Have we managed to raise the chocolate allocation to 10 grams?

I think if a mainstream news source reported that his approval was 20% or less, something which might be more in touch with reality, people would finally turn to each other and say "What the hell are we doin' here?"

But it's all a little too late. He's on his way out and can't get re-elected, so he doesn't give a fuck. That's one problem with the whole two-term limit, although the bonus is that crazy fucks like him only get eight years to ruin the country and not twelve or sixteen or twenty.

Oh, they would love to get rid of the two term limit if they could. The downfalls and lame duck issues are nowhere near as bad as the possibility of having a leader that could dig in for the long haul.

20% sounds more realistic. You know it can never go lower than that just due to the fact that there are enough idiots who will never waver even if he came into their house and slapped their mother.

No, I don't think so. The 20% never really understood what he said, so they can't be considered as paying attention. And the 80% who hate him, stopped listening once they realized how much of an ass he is. I stopped listening to him around June, 2000.
