Call of Nature

Forever Empress E
I'll celebrate by packing my suitcase for a 3 week vacation in southern Italy starting on Nov 2nd YAY! And while northern Europe vanishes in the November fog, Brigadoon-style, I shall make a sailing trip to Capri's famous blue cave, have a Grappa in Naples, enjoy the hot springs on the Island of Ischia or find a sunny spot in Pompeji's gardens. Not to mention those yummy oranges, grapes, figs and tangerines - sweet, juicy and still warm from the sun *drool*

I wanna go with you!!!

Lots of pictures please.

gotta download them from my camera and propably edit the colours before I can post them (my old camera tends a bit to the blue-ish tones), but I must warn you: it's almost all sunsets and vegetation. Only very few landscapes and sights.

christ, you go to Italy and all you can do is sunsets and vegetation?

hopefully some like this:

Happy Vacation!

it may be a bit longer than I thought till I get around to edit these pics and put them online. Just got a call saying my brother is in hospital. Apparently he suddenly went unconscious at work (no, his job isn't *that* boring :P ). They don't know yet what's the matter and are still running tests but atm he seems to be quite fine, so there's not much to worry about right now. Still, I better keep in reach of the phone, just in case.
So I'll make myself a bit sparse, online, the next few days.
You guys be good :)

TCON, your brother has some kind of heart condition is that right? I hope we're not seeing an upgrade in his situation there. Good luck and well wishes to him and the family.

As for Jack, you might want to pull back on the veggie pics. I can tell you for a fact that TCON gets mighty uptight at the sight of butternut squash because she thinks you're looking at her like one of those things is something she can work with when it definitely NOT (:P ;)) but since that was nothing for you to know, moving on (:P ;)).

LOL now you got me drooling, Day. Baked butternut squash with sourcream, parmesant freshly ground pepper and lots of thyme would be just the thing right now! (Didn't I give you the recipe? It's not bad with sweet potatos or Hokkaido squash either. Might go well with Thanksgiving turkey.)

Thanks for the thumb up. No, the one with the heart probs is my dad. The docs are still performing all kinds of tests. I guess by now my lil bro knows how a lab rat feels (though the rats usually get fed better than patients in German hospitals). So far the medicine men couldn't find anything but at least they could exclude all the really dangerous conditions. So we know now that it can't be a brain tumour, stroke or heart problem. It may be a disfunction of the inner ear (possibly in the aftermath of a silent infection) or simply too much stress (he didn't exactly have a lack of that lately).
If all goes according to plan he'll be released from hospital tomorrow.

LOL naaah, on the old EZboard. One evening Daystrom, Sardonica (or was it Skinofevil??)and I were in chat, swapping household tricks and recipes and we agreed that it'd be nice to have a place to swap recipes on a regular basis. So Sardy (or possibly Skin) went silent for 5 mins and when he returned, TK had a brandnew Kitchen forum =)
I saved the threads. If you like, I can put them online again.

hey, for those who can't sleep right now and like good Blues and Rock: I am just listening to Shore 104FM's live stream with Jim Byrnes (Slipping into Darkness, every Sunday from 9 to 11 pm PST) - cool stuff and only few ad breaks http://www.shore104.com/ (click on "listen live stream")
For me it's Monday 6-8 am. What better way to start a week than with Jim Byrnes' No Mail Blues or some sophisticated guitar stuff by Steve Dawson? (awfully sweet guys IRL!)
