In light of recent events, it is time for a couple polls. I think this one is a bit of a formality, but what the Hell.

Do you think the present state at Wordforge is fucked up to the point that it needs fixing? It's a yes or no question. Discussion about the shades of grey can follow below.
 
OK. On second thought, I'll give this poll a couple days before the next issue. Voting is open for ten days, but I think after a day we'll have a fairly decisive answer.
 
Oh, and for the record, I think it is broken. And the only way to fix it is a change of ownership.

A change in ownership does no good when:

1) The owner doesn't think anything's wrong
2) Will most likely keep the same exact staff around

A change in ownership a temporary fix to a problem. Particularly since the only person El would sell the board to that actually wants it would be Nick.
 
It's a mix of the two. It's not broken upon repair, but it certainly doesn't run as smoothly as it used to.
 
It's broken but fixable. And in spite of the broken state, there is still enjoyment to be found. I think the board should change ownership, not because Elwood is incapable of addressing the problems, but because he isn't interested. I don't think he enjoys owning the board anymore, and it would be better to hand it off to somebody who wants to do it.

He also is reluctant to do some of the most important reforms, like pairing the staff. He acknowledges this needs to be done, but his loyalty to the existing crew prevents him from wielding the termination ax.
 
You don't think that just maybe Troll Kingdom, in a sub forum designed exactly for talking about how you want to change Wordforge, might give a slightly skewed response to this poll?

There's no such thing as people on the staff who want the best for the board are there?

Of course, I'm sure more than a few of the TKers here want Wordforge to fracture and die so that they finally have someone to talk to.
 
I agree with Bailey.

Quit playing the tortured dissident, Volpone, and post this at WF itself. if you're at all interested in an unbiased result. :)

Please, please, please tell me you're not taking over ownership. We've already experienced having a child in charge with Borgs. I'd rather not have a repeat of that.

Even if that were the case, I'm not anything like Borgs, when I was 18 I was more emotionally mature than that dingus. Remember when the board was hacked and he disappeared on vacation?

And I especially don't have the audacity to pay for drinks in book tokens ;).
