She didn't win the Power of Veto competition, skinny Daniele did.

The buzz going around is that Carol is toast. But she has a couple of days to try to sway people. However, she's been spending her time so far whining and crying about her plight. I think most of them can't wait to get rid of her.

Buh-bye.

Carole is perhaps the prettiest of the birds in there. That chinese lady presenter talks too much, imo. I don't get the head of household thingie. From the little bit I've seen, the US version has too much hand-holding by Big Brother.

Each week starts on a Thursday with the Head of Household competiton and evictee nominations. The HoH is the one who nominates two houseguests for eviction. There is a swanky HoH suite upstairs that is custom-decorated and filled with the person's favorite snack foods, and some pictures and momentos from family and friends.

On Friday there is the Power of Veto competition, where HGs compete for a medal and the power to switch one of the nominees. The nominees also get to play to try and save themselves (or to keep themselves nominated to ensure the other nominee is evicted, if there's a conspiracy afoot).

On Saturday there's a Food Competition, to see how the pantry is going to be stocked for the week. Some will be able to eat whatever's there, and some of the losers will have to eat what is known as Slop, an oatmeal-ish kind of porridge that is apparently is nutritious but not too pleasant. People usually don't forget a houseguest who caused them to go on Slop for a week...

On Sunday/Monday the winner of the POV competition holds a meeting and announces whether or not a switch is to be made to the nominees.

Tuesday there are some live interviews on TV, and everyone spends Tuesday and Wednesday buzzing, conspiring, and campaigning each other about who to vote to evict. Which brings us to Thursday, where someone is evicted and a new HoH competition is held, completing the cycle.

There are one-hour shows on Thursday, Sunday and Tuesday. The Thursday one is the only true "live" one with the eviction, HoH competition, and new nominations. The other two have live interviews with the HGs but are otherwise filled with all the other taped competitions, plus whatever juicy moments in the house there are to show.

Yeah, if there houseguests aren't interesting people it can get pretty dry.

This year there is a twist called America's Player, where viewers get to text/email and tell one houseguest what to do/say, and how to vote. Right now that player is Eric.

Also, at the finale there is an audience-voted award called America's Favorite, which carries a cash prize of $25K that could go to anyone in the house.

That's quite good, they only get a hundred grand here (and someone already got a hundred grand FOR NO REASON) and the prestige that goes with being a BB winner!

They're allowed to talk about who they will be voting out and making alliances, and plotting against one another. That's weird.

Well, part of the drama is watching how they align, and who is two-faced, etc. It's the kind of show that makes people love to scream at their TVs.

The Power of Veto ceremony was held just now, and Daniele decided not to veto either nominee. It's still Amber and Carol, which means Carol and all her whining will be gone Thursday.
