chip and pin is more secure than the enterprise!

Now that I think of it, wasn't the self destruct sequence of the enterprise a ridiculously short password?

From Kirk Code 1 1A
From Scotty Code 1-1 A-2B.
From Chekov Code 1 B-2B-3.

I mean the gate to the carpark at work has a stronger password than that!

26 letters in the alphabet, an infinity of numbers, and they pick passwords that use the first three numbers and the first two letters.

No wonder Khan took over the ship so easily!

Not only that, but they don't appear to have changed the passwords in 20 years, despite saying the same sequence in front of enemy hostiles back in the original series.

I'm pretty sure the computer also checks the voice pattern to make sure it's actually them (OR DATA) giving the code, though.

HOW COME SOMETIMES THE FIRST OFFICER HAS TO VERIFY TOO?

It seems everyone on the bridge knows every password, just in case one of them is already dead when they need the codes
