I just got a chrome book.
I had some gift certificates and wanted to use them but didn't want a tablet and I'm not really looking for a laptop at this point either so I got a chrome book.
I wonder how many TV shows I can watch on it?!?!?!??!
I bought this thing because all it does is access the internet, with a keyboard, and it is lightweight.
WTF LOL
I actually wanted a net book back in the day, especially when I was going to school-it would have been easier to carry around. But I didn't get it and sort of regretted it later when my laptop fried. So I guess I am glad I bought it, I still just can't believe it though-because I rarely splurge on fun items for myself like this anymore. (splurge, it wasn't that much)
I guess so. I am not sure how all the aps work. I think an Ipad has internet access everywhere. This has to have a network to hook up to. (I hope I said that correctly, otherwise I might sound like one of those old people I am always making fun of in other threads)
Every pad or device has to choose a wireless network to hook up to -- it's not exclusive to the iPad or iPhone. My iPhone uses the wireless off my cable modem when I'm home, and when I'm out, it's catch as catch can.
That's why if you are outside your house, you should limit the amount of downloading/uploading you do, because it will use up all your bandwidth on whatever plan you have. Only upgrade apps when you are connected to your computer, that way it probably won't use up your minutes, depending on your plan.
Thanks. That is what I was trying to say. I have internet connection on my phone (cheap Metro PCS knock off). When I had my flip phone I used to use my IPod touch for internet but had to go to a cafe or somewhere with a wi-fi network and receive the password if it was secured. The chrome book is the same way.
So I wasn't sure how the I pad is, but Eggs answered that for me.
So far the most annoying thing is I cannot figure out "right click". I am supposed to push down on both bottom portions of the mouse pad-but it doesn't always work for me. Perhaps I will revert to using a mouse.
