Come to Tea

eloisel

Forever Empress E
It is tea time, served with ice, sugar and a squeeze of lemon.

Tell me - what are your big plans for the rest of the summer?

I would love some warm chamomile and honey please. Then I'll cuddle on the couch and tell you all about my busy month next month.

This weekend it's BBQ for my brother's birthday, next weekend the kids will be at the beach with their grandma and maybe we'll have a yard sale. Friday August 17th I'm taking the rugrats to Disneyland and then the following Friday I'm taking them to The Aquarium of the Pacific. And then on Monday August 27 it's the most wonderful day of the year, THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!!!! HOOORAAAAAAYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tea sounds lovely...

I'll make something to snack on,
while we chat about our summer plans :)

Mmmmmmmm, iced tea with lemon and a sprig of mint, lots of ice, and a nice straw. I'll take a large glass as I'm very thirsty.

We've had a fairly mild summer so far. All this rain has kept the temperatures down in the 80s most days. We had another storm today. Cable internet and satellite TV were down for a few hours this afternoon. So what did we do on a stormy day? We got in the car and went to the lake. The sun came out and ducks came up to greet us. I need to get my fishing license. This evening would have been a good time to go fishing. No, I don't actually put a hook or bait on my line. I don't want to injure a fish I don't intend to eat. But, I do like to sit out there with my line in the water, earphones on, listening to something nice while the sun goes down, people all around me sitting patiently waiting for bites on their lines. I just like to blend in while I observe.

I actually rather enjoy fishing. It's so relaxing, and I just love being out on the water.

I don't eat fish myself, nor does anyone in my family, so we practice catch and release only, unless the fish is injured. If that's the case, we give it to someone who does eat them.

I'd hunt, too, if I didn't have to kill anything.

I eat fish. I just don't cook much anymore.

For the woods, a ski lodge with a fireplace, hot cocoa and warm blankets is good for me. Cameras are good for catching what is running wild around the place.

I used to go to Estes Park back in the late 70s to spend Christmas in the Tiny Town Cabins. From Cacophony's pictures, it looks like Tiny Town is gone. The downtown area used to be real small and very arts and crafts oriented. Back in those days, I made a lot of macrame items and wall hangings out of latchhook and rya rugs. I always enjoyed the scenic drive from Denver.

We sailed the Lake yesterday, went for a long walk, then came back and ate scallops and steak with corn and grilled veggies.

I had a nap on the trampoline in the sun after my workout. That's what days off are like. Tomorrow I go to burlington to get a haircut and pick up new comics and get that Mellow Gold album by beck, since that seems to be the only way I can get a rippable track of Motherfucker, and I won't do the Beck Special without it.

Summer stretches out like my fat lazy cat in the sun. No fucking plans at all except to be in the gym for an hour every day and work 40 a week.

I enjoy these little peeks into your insipid life; the thought of you bouncing on a trampoline is particularly amusing.

A proper teacup, lad, needs to be washed properly inside and out in warm soapy water and rinsed thoroughly in piping hot water before and after each use to maintain flavour. Now go wash that cup!
