I want to smell dark matter
Joe danced all night and slept during the day, waking late when it was time to dance once again. He danced inside yet forgot to draw the curtains, a girl saw him and laughed. She was young and unusual but had a nice smile. Joe felt embarrassed but soon felt happy, happy that he had made her laugh. He took a chance and invited her in.
"Why do you dance?" she asked, before either knew the other's name.
"Why?" he said. "It makes me happy."
"Why does it make you happy?" she said, smiling wider.
"I don't know," he said, laughing. "It just does. What makes you happy?"
"You know when you wake from a dream and for a few moments you don't know if it was real or not? That makes me happy."
Joe felt a sudden cold chill down his spine.
Joe's parents still visited him every day.
"Is there any chance, doctor?" asked his weary mother. "I know what you said...but I've been reading about comas..."
"There's always a chance," said the doctor, looking down at Joe's broken body. "Your son my dance again."
