I understand your the guy to talk to about comics and star wars

There are a few things I would like to talk to you about, which I will mention once you have found this thread

Good

Have you seen Marvel Civil war yet?

I have read the first two, and most of the comics that were with the first one.

Also I wondered what you thought about Splinter of hte minds eye, and wether you consider it canon or not.

Also wether you have read the latest hard back star wars novel, I hear Jacen is becoming a Sith, I am probably going to wait till it comes out in paperback though

I have every issue of civil war along with the tie in's. It is good, however, I think the changes are too drastic to stand the test of time. I suspect reed and tony are being mind control as it totally out of character for them to act as they are.

I have the opinion that ALL Star Wars Literature, comics, novels, kiddie books and role playing games are canon. This is according to Sue Rostini (head of Lucas Licening) in Star Wars Gamer #6. Splinter of the Minds eye was OK. The scene with Luke and Leia kissing are troublesome, but it was written before we knew they were siblings.

I am a little behind on Star Wars Novels. I am reading the first book that came out post NJO.

By the way, I have every star wars novel, every star wars comic, all the kiddie books and all the role playing books. I even went to the public library to copy microfice for the 68 newspaper comic strips that were never reprinted.

Thats pretty hard core.

I got into the novels with NJO, then got most of the older ones after that, its odd all the novels by women suck, and most of them feature Luke being downpowered for most of the story

whisky,

I'm not able to read as much as Darthsickle, but I do read some current titles and have been reading comics all my life. I'm thirty, so you can figure I've actually read comics for about twenty three of those years.

Anyway, if you have any questions, let me know. I've been hoping to find some other comics readers here, as the last message board "community" I was part of was "too mature" to discuss comics, much less read 'em. They preferred to attack every comic-inspired film or television show.

I'm also a big fan of Star Wars, and have done a lot of research about Star Wars over the years. Same for comic book history and certain characters.

I read the first issue of Civil War. I wasn't too impressed with what I read happened in Civil War 2. Doesn't make sense, and I agree with Darthsickle that Reed and Tony are not themselves. I hope something's behind their behavior, or we can just chalk this up to yet more poor characterization on Millar's part.

I thought this for a while as well, until I heard that Lucas authorized the naming of "levels" of canon.

Here's more.

I'd say this is necessary, since Boba Fett's origin couldn't be reconciled with Attack of the Clones.

This is free to all to chat Voltage, I only mentioned Darthsickle by name as I was told he knew about this sort of stuff.

My only real exposure to Marvel was the british black and white reprint marvel comics, which also had in them other series, the one which had the biggest impact was the micronauts, when I discovered they not only had a magazine just for them in america, but was in colour, and didnt have random planels deleted, I had to get every one.

With the usual crossovers, I also got to know about the fantastic four, ant man, the avengers, the x men, sheild, Dr Strange, and various other characters.

A year ago I bought a Cd of star wars comics off ebay, and recently I have been discovering some scanned comics on torrent.

I dont really know enough about the characters to say they were not themselves, although it did surprise me that they would send the hulk off world.
