Day One

Dear whomever,
I tried today to not log into TK, I tried today to not drink caffeine, but I failed. Or maybe I succeeded. I am not sure. Or maybe I am sure.
 
I can take or leave coffee, but the real monkey on my back is Diet Coke. The aspartame is poison, but ice-cold DC in cans is better than crack.

Interestingly, if you get Diet Coke from a fountain instead of in bottles/cans, it won't have aspartame in it. Aspartame doesn't hold up in a fountain environment, so they still use saccharine. (Which is probably less toxic for you overall)

I gave up Diet Coke a year ago and I'm still a horribly unhealthy person who hates himself SO KEEP ON TRUCKIN' EGGS.

My sister just posted a blog from some Jesus-lovin' lady who said that people who drink too much diet soda can get misdiagnosed with MS when it's actually the side effects of aspartame poisoning. NICE. But I don't feel all those unhealthy symptoms when I drink it -- my body tells me when I've had enough and it's time to switch to water, since diet soda doesn't really quench your thirst or properly rehydrate you.

COFFEE IS ACTUALLY BETTER FOR YOU THAN OTHER CAFFEINE DRINKS (unless you load it up with cream and sugar, and maybe tea is better than coffee but I've never done a study sinve I'M NOT A SCIENTIST)
