Coming over the wire soon. John Testor has already claimed victory based on 97% of the vote being counted. Claims the remaining uncounted ballots are not enough to close the gap for the Republican candidate.
Looks like Montana is down, Virginia to go. :bigass:
The Democrats will be thinking about 2008. They have two years to prove they are really different than the GOP. This should be taken advantage of. As soon as they get into office in January, flood their offices with demands for full investigations into the lies that led to Iraq. Tell them that their name on the door is written with erasable marker.
The Democrats suck, there's no doubt about. But that's pretty much my stance on all politicians.
However, I agree. If there was ever a time for the Democrats to change public opinion about them, it's now. They blow this and they get exactly what what they deserve.
This should also serve as a big, BIG wake up call to both Bush and the Republicans. The American people don't like what has been going on and don't trust this administration. Better get your shit in order or come the 08 elections, the Democrats may have a 100% hold on this country.
Going to the polls may have been intimidating for some Virginia voters Tuesday. 8NEWS has learned the FBI is investigating reports of phone calls, threatening to arrest people if they showed up to vote.
The election results are a defeat for the vote riggers as well. Their tricks are only good for shifting a few percentage points, not reversing a landslide.
I hope Pelosi is not a disaster. If the Dems take the Senate too I think the moderating influence of Reid will balance Pelosi's real potential to alienate middle america. Rahm Emmanuel's rise as a power broker should have a mitigating effect.
"You folks take a moment to call all those representatives who won last night and put them on notice. They have two years to straighten out the mess in Iraq, and properly investigate 9-11, or we'll vote THEM out and find another crew to put in, until we get the truth out. And we will keep changing Congresses until we get one that puts America FIRST, SECOND, AND THIRD. Even if it means installing a revolving door on the capitol building."
