I have also not watched the new version of the show. I did see he was going to be on it though.
 
That's where I knew him from! I sat there thinking . . . this old moonshiner is totally familiar, where the heck have I seen him before. Thanks for clearing that up.

For the record his part was kind of cute - he offered the Hawaii Five-O boys a drink on the house.
 
I DVRd it, but I haven't watched it yet. I don't usually watch the show but I head Takei was going to be on last night.
